If I could give more stars, I would! We needed a place for 7 adults and 2 infants. I wasn’t sure a B&B would accommodate children, but Sally and Scott went over and above to insure we had a wonderful time in Bermuda. Their estate is everything the pictures and description suggest … and more. While the home was built in 1928 and has the charm of a home from that era, it has all the modern conveniences in all the right places. The bathrooms and kitchen are modernized, clean and fresh, the beds and linens are top quality, and breakfast on the veranda was a perfect way to start our day. The bedrooms were good size with comfortable beds, en suite bathrooms and plenty of space to unpack for the week. The cottage was new and completely modern, with a full kitchen, living room, bathroom and large bedroom. All bathrooms had heated towel rods, soaps and shampoos, hairdryer, and plenty of towels. The accommodations more than exceeded our expectations, but what really made our stay special was the warm welcome from Sally and Scott Godet, and their obvious desire for us to love Bermuda as much as they do. Sally prearranged to have 2 high chairs and pack-n-plays available for our grandchildren. They also had age appropriate toys available. They drove us to the supermarket our first day to save us the walk/or taxi ride. While at the store, they inquired about our breakfast preferences and tailored their selections for our benefit. Breakfast on the Veranda each morning consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, a selection of cereals, fresh eggs from their chicken coop, fresh tomatoes from the garden and an assortment of toast or croissants. Sally is known throughout the island for her homemade jams and jellies and always had an assortment available for our use. While the cottage is typically on its own with its own kitchen, Sally didn’t mention this when we all showed up for breakfast and Sally and Scott served the 9 of us (including the babies) each morning with fresh coffee available as we all slowly gathered on the veranda. The children enjoyed visiting the chickens, picking fresh bananas from the trees, and enjoying the various gardens. The pool was between the cottage and house, steps from the veranda, but surrounded by gardens and gated to provide safety, and privacy. Everyone enjoyed swimming in the pool and lounging on the pool deck. Scott takes great care of the pool and grounds, and both Sally and Scott joined us for walks around the grounds pointing out the various fruits and flowers and sharing interesting facts about Bermuda. They were also a great resource for directions to local restaurants, church, beaches, and transportation services. It was an easy walk to the ferry in one direction and a nice walk down Tribe Road to Elbow Beach in the other direction. We came to Bermuda to attend a wedding. The day of the wedding Scott arranged for a driver to take all of us to the venue. Of course, baby nap schedules took priority and not all of us could go at the same time. Scott personally provided transportation for the ‘nappers’, to insure all were able to enjoy the wedding festivities as baby sleep schedules would allow. We chose not to rent a car or scooter even though there was an outlet available to charge an electric car. We found the local transportation very convenient with many things within walking distance, a bus stops just at the end of their property, a short walk to the ferry, and taxis readily available. We found all of Bermuda to be friendly and inviting, with white roofs, colorful houses, beautiful beaches and landscaping throughout. At the center of it all, in Paget Parish, is the beautiful St Helier B&B and a charming couple who made our visit to Bermuda perfect in every way. Thank You Scott and Sally for sharing your beautiful property and big hearts!
